From a distance optic wise she does look out of place if your looking through the lens or prism of race in America historically.
I have been literally the only black face in a large gathering of whites at a very few events before in my life. I have also been the only black person in an all indian group, all asian group, all Italian group, all middle eastern group, all hispanic group and others that I can't recall as I'm typing this now. I never felt conscious of my skin color or was made to feel conscious of it. I just felt like everybody else. Of course this mainly stems from your level & degree of socialization with people which directly influences your comfort level with people who are outside of your racial and ethnic background, outside of your culture, outside of your social economic class, outside of your philosophy & beliefs etc etc etc.
The guy is a British National and by the background it sems those pictures were taken in the UK. They been together for about 15 years so I'm sure they have had family gatherings before.
But yeah optic wise, the contrast is noticeable and jumps & pops out right at you.
