Legendary breakdancer Shabba Doo has died suddenly. He was 65.


Born Adolfo Quiñones, Adolfo Quiñones came to prominence in the 1980’s as one of the most legendary and well-known dancers on the West Coast. Chicago-born, he became a mega-star and heartthrob through the movie 1984 movie “Breakin’.”

The movie with cement his legacy as a pop locker, actor breakdancer and choreographer.

On a post, his dance crew said, “It is with extreme sadness [that] The Lockers family announces the unexpected passing of our beloved Adolfo Shabba-Doo Quinones. In this difficult time, we are requesting privacy.”

one of my favorite movies growin' up....

i remember after watchin' this movie...my mom & dad had to come down to my elementary school...and have a parent/teacher conference...because after i saw this movie...i wouldn't stop breakdancin' in class...

one of my favorite movies growin' up....

i'm remember after watchin' this movie...my mom & dad had to come down to my elementary school...and have a parent/teacher conference...because after i saw this movie...i wouldn't stop breakdancin' in class...

being from nyc and growing up right smack in the middle of the hip hop hey day

in uptown nyc and the bronx... literally growing up with the members of rock steady,

we saw any other form of hip hop as a watered down version, we could never bring ourselves to watch breakin

although boogooshrimp had some respect...

My man Shabba was considered a professional, since he was like top teir

when it came to making money off hip hop, he was traveling professionally doin it,

so he was on a whole other level with it...
