Forecast models are calming down on the potential for an intense tropical cyclone in the Gulf this coming week. While it still needs to be monitored, it doesn't seem like it will be Helene-like.
How much rain is it bringing with it tho?Forecast models are calming down on the potential for an intense tropical cyclone in the Gulf this coming week. While it still needs to be monitored, it doesn't seem like it will be Helene-like.

We've learned thru time that it doesn't really take heavy winds to cause a lot of damage....but heavy rains always will lead to flooding....which causes more damage.
It’s backSo far not showing a lot of significance, but we’ll know more in the come days.
It’s back
You are correct, but I’m going to give it two days because it’s already changing dramatically from what this 6 Z run didThe minimum low is 1001 which is a weak tropical storm or depression. Plus there is no cold front that provided Helene with a lot of energy and moisture content. The GFS isn’t as aggressive with this one as it was with Helene.
