Very smart spending by Poles so far. I know some don't like it because of big name O line and D line weren't signed but he's doing intelligent spending. This the type of spending PFF be talking about. You still have the draft left and Poles said it himself that you are not going to be able to do everything in one off-season.

I like he's getting guys with upside and who are young and not throwing money at players 29+

So some of the positions will stick and they'll be there for next year and we won't be doing this all over again for every position...

I was about to say, I was thrown off by that, because Poles has been doing so well
Yeah that threw me off too because if that was the case you'd be better off signing Montgomery. Plus I would have gotten a notification from NBC Sports Chicago if they signed him. Bears will probably draft a RB, draft experts are saying the RB position is like 22 deep in this year's draft... :eek2:

David Montgomery to the Lions

Do the Lions realize that RB isn't as essential a position anymore?

What the fuck are they doing?

I think that the coach really does want to run the ball more and Swift can't stay healthy so they can split carries with both being able to catch the ball plus Montgomery is almost sure to be a better pass blocker

Via Adam Hoge:

“Why didn’t the Bears make a run at Orlando Brown Jr? Ryan Poles: ‘The scheme match is a big deal there.'”

Brown is a strong all-around offensive lineman, but he doesn’t necessarily fit into the Bears run-heavy offense led by Justin Fields. Read options are used heavily by Chicago, and with Brown excelling at protecting pocket passers and opening up conventional running lanes, it’s clear he’s a much better fit for the Bengals than the Bears here.

I didn't know Foreman had such a good year last year despite having a garbage QB

After they traded McCaffrey Carolina won games based on running the ball down people's throats. I still expect the Bears to draft a RB in the late rounds and possibly take a TE late as well. Guessing that the early part of the draft will involve pass rushers, protection and possibly some CB help
