I told some SEC fans on a cruise years back this was coming as soon as the B10 expanded to LA. B10 got the big 3 TV markets. More money for the conference, more money for recruits.

Bama and Georgia used to stockpile 4 & 5 Stars in the past. When one set graduated, they next level would roll in. Now they're out the door when they don't get time or see an immediate spot in the 2 Deep. This cycle:

Georgia:
4 Stars
Justin Rhett (CB) to Nebraska
Samuel M'Pemba (LB/Edge) to A&M
Troy Bowles (LB) to Michigan
Julian Humphrey (DB) to A&M
Jake Pope (S) undecided
Jamaal Jarrett (DT) to USC

Bama:
4 Stars
Amari Jefferson (WR) to Tennessee
Jaren Hamilton (WR) Undecided
Justice Haynes (RB) to Michigan
Miles McVay (OL) to UNC
Damon Payne (DL) to Michigan
Caleb Odom (WR) to Ole Miss
Jahlil Hurley (S) to Kansas

And these aren't all the transfers. Portal is COOKING them. They can't develop like they used to

That Duck hate is strong ...I feel that way about The Gaytors

Yea it’s amazing how people shape your views about things…

Years ago, if that shit wasn’t so far away, i would’ve been repping the Ducks

Oregon was my dawg first choice but the distance was much. Told him bro, we might see you twice a year vs you being in Bama we can come see you 6 times or more…

Just had to keep it real with him…
Dude was the type that he wanted us to be around him.

Thanks, I was about to state that if memory serves me correctly this will be the first time that a Black coach will be playing for the College Football National Championship.

(You're going to here this leading up to the game on January 20, 2025)

SMU will thrive with the current system. Oil money.
Facts. But their coach has to be a really good roster manager and culture creator bc buying a bunch of recruits hasn't worked (yet) for A&M and Oregon. They get them and then they leave ASAP when they don't get time. I'm cheering for SMU though. I have no idea why but I just kinda like them. Plus I want the ACC to be strong again.

Another thing to keep in mind is these kids now have agents. While these kids are at one school their agent is contacting other schools and collectives of other schools to gauge interest on if their client hops in the portal. So the agent of X kid from Bama, who two years ago was an On3 Top 50, but is now a redshirt freshman prospect not on the two deep, contacts Baylor, SMU, Miami, Louisville because his client is a Safety and those schools are gonna be low in numbers with DBs next year. He starts a bidding war between the schools and gets Louisville to cough up $375k. Kid hops in the portal in December and the agent just made a quick $56K-$75K. Now multiply that by several clients he has. It's in the agent's (not the school, and not necessarily the kid's) best interest for his client to hop in the portal.

This is why most (of the top) kids know where they're going before they even go into the portal. Everyone knew ND was getting Riley Leonard and Sam Hartman before they even declared. ND can't compete with SMU's oil money, but they're the biggest college football brand so the deals they got Riley and Sam (along with checks) get them multiple bags. It's also why Ewers and Milroe's agents were desperately trying to link their clients with possible ND transfers to drive up the price for their clients, despite Freeman saying on multiple interviews that ND has the next QB on their roster already

The UGLY side of this is the kids getting pushed out the door by their schools because of roster management. About half who go into the portal don't find new schools. No NFL. No education. Nothing.

More proof. Year ago a young Edge rusher would've just sat behind the vets, got the teaching from the coaches, developed, then taken the reins after the players ahead of him were drafted. Now...

This why Deion say often you can hope in that portal if you want, you might stay in there.

He even said it about his daughter when she left Colorado(aiming her mom’s influence).
“It’s just stupid to jump into the portal and don’t have a place to go)
