plenty of men are dating/married to single mothers and have the same responsibilities as a father without adopting.

If I had Brad Pitt money with multiple homes across the world. fuck it. save a kid from Africa and he can kick it in the crib in Paris being raised by the help. It's better than the desperate situation he was in. I think if I did it, I wouldn't be super close to the person. Just use it as a means to escape the terrible life they were in. If their father is still alive, no. If mother left them and father killed in a war, then yeah.

My dad had a few coworkers in the fire dept who adopted children. They had 2 children of their own, and adopted 2-3 who were siblings as well.

I had a few coworkers at one of my oncall jobs in the early 2010s who also adopted. They shared their experiences during our downtime when people were talking family and life experiences.

One of my old white supervisors adopted a few kids, like 3 or 4, some Black. Thought he was just that good of a person...but heard some of his conversations and surmised he and his wife were doing it for the money.

You sure they weren’t foster kids? you get paid being a foster parent, you don’t get paid adopting.. I know a woman who made nice bread off of being a foster parent

Yeah I guess you're right. In GA looks like you get around 600 a kid monthly.

Nebraska, DC, Ohio seem to pay out the most.

South Carolina, Mississippi, Delaware, Idaho, Wisconsin, Wyoming etc should be ashamed of themselves.

When you adopt, the biological father gets off child support.

The dumbest thing said in a month of Sundays.

When you adopt both biological parents have to sign their rights away.

If the child you adopt was in foster care you get paid monthly and they also provide Medicaid.

All I can say is that if you do go down that road, please read the fine print and learn the rules and regulations for your state, because NYC is on some bullshit, always trying to cut corners with new bullshit.

One of the problems I have with adoption is the kids trying to find their biological parents later in life. I can’t deal with that shit. I wanted a son and considered adoption but changed my mind.

I got a cousin who's wife convinced them to adopt because she couldn't have a child. Shit was drama after they adopted a little girl. The mom was a prostitute & the agency withheld some info about the girl being molested & all type of shit. Long story short they gave up the girl to some group home and wasted a bunch of money :smh: .

I used to work for CPS and been in the mental health field for nearly 15 years. I warned them about getting a child who's had that type of trauma and making sure the agency wasn't trying to finesse them.

We fostered/adopted my wife's niece's son when he was one month old. He turned 18 last Friday. He's worked at Bojangles since he turned 16 and is on track to graduate this school year. He hasn't been a burden or pain in the ass, and I love him like he was of my seed.

We get $698 a month here in NC beginning back in April until he turns 19. We got $634 before then.
