I know we have a bunch of threads where it is discussed with respect to female celebs, but I think it would be helpful to the fam if we had a thread on the subject centered on us.

Unless you’re actually diabetic or can’t physically do excercise this shit should be avoided. Weight loss is simple. It’s never changed from day one. Watch your fucking calorie intake. It’s as simple as that. Nobody is overweight because they stay within 2000 calories a day.

I’m not sure I agree with your medical philosophy but I do know that Black flolks have double the likelihood of becoming diabeticwhen compared to whites, so I know we have some fam on the shit for medical reasons, which is the point of the thread.

There’s medical reasons for Ozempic, but the vast majority of subscriptions are losely medical related. It’s exactly the same shit as the oxycontin effect. Big pharma passed a bill that makes it prescribable through Medicare and Medicaid to almost anyone and the stock for the company that makes it is now through the roof. Anyone who’s deemed technically overweight (which is the majority of Americans) can get a prescription. Even children. We have a dietary problem in America not a disease problem.

try to change your diet before messing with that medicine. That shit is beginning to fuck up a lot of white people appearance. Yeah it may help you lose weight but it can make you look like you are on meth.

That’s great regarding weight loss. But what about it’s effect on diabetes?

I don't even though I'm a type 1 diabetic but I know of three people taking it for the purpose of weight loss,

1.is 30's and she'd down in weight,2.when she does eat,it's nothing healthy so she's just waisting her time but she believe it will work,3.had all types of stomach issues from being sick to cramping.

I wouldn't recommend taking insulin only for the soul purpose of losing weight cause after you stop what are you going to do?

I started with an A1C of around 10.2 8/9 years back when I started Trulicity it got down to consistently between 7-8. then it slowly started to tick up and finally it was at 9.1. So my Dr and me decided to switch to Ozempic that was in November last year and the numbers have gone down the last 2 A1C tests. My last test in April was 5.6 which was a shock to all of us. as far as weight lost goes Ive dropped around 10 lbs but thats mainly due to eating better not the Ozempic. for diabetics it helps a lot those that r doing it weight loss only r gonna be fucked up when they stop

The reason I started this thread is because my wife told me one of her friends had full blown diabetes and after taking Ozempic, that shit is GONE! They are being cautious about the way forward, but with all the Black folks suffering from diabetes, that shit got my attention.

Obese people at times may have abnormally functioning hunger centers in the brain (the hypothalamus) where they are not reaching satiety with normal amounts of food

Ozempic helps the hypothalamus regulate an obese person's satiety allowing them to eat less.

It's actually a blockbuster drug of it's time and has helped folks easily lose 80lbs in a year.

I've been dealing with type II since 2000. At first it was under control with exercise, as I got older, I started using Metformin. My A1C stayed between 5-7 for years. After my accident, walking hurt, so my numbers shot up. I tried Ozempic, but that shit made me crave sugar. I'm using Menjaro now, but I can't take it weekly. A1C is down to high 6's. I just got a Precor elliptical today, so I should be off this shit in a few months. As far as weight loss, I'm down about 20, but that is due to intermittent fasting.

Ozempic Butt,’ characterized by sagging skin on the butt, is gaining traction as a reported side effect of the weight loss drug semaglutide, better known by the popular brand names Ozempic and Wegovy.

Experts say rapid, extreme weight loss can contribute to looser skin, particularly in curvier areas of the body.

Taking a slower, more sustainable approach to weight loss can lower your risk of developing ‘Ozempic Butt.‘

Regular exercise as well as surgical and non-surgical treatments can improve the appearance of ‘Ozempic butt.’

It will curb your appetite and it made me me stop drinking a lot of beer. I used to drink a six back a week. now I don't drink one when I'm watching a football game at the bar! I've lost 15lbs. it does wonders for my diabetes!

I trust nature not man...

Fasting and eating the right foods

To break a fast... Could cure too many things

And been a cure since the dawn of time

Long before big pharma and their gluttonny

For profiteering on your illness was a thing

Please go start a thread on eating and living right. We certainly need one. But here, let’s stick to what people are experiencing when on the medication.

Have a friend taking it. She lost quit a bit of weight and her A1C went down, but she has a lot of saggy skin. Also she doesn't eat enough. I stopped preaching that you need fiber and protein to folks because when I do..

Hard for peeps to understand if ur not eating protein, exercising, especially while on a weight loss shot, most weight you will loose will be water and muscle. More importantly, if the microbiome is not changed you will never really reset ur gut to eat well.

Lastly, one has to have a plan if they ever get off that stuff because they will go right back to where they left off before taking it. Protein helps with collagen production, which helps sagging skin. Man, lol let me shut my ass up.

Seems like people need to learn HOW and WHAT to EAT. if they don't change their eating habits to high protein and fiber... They'll become deflated balloons weighting for the influx of carbs to blow all the way up.
