A report on the legal cases in Bangladesh, in regards to the student protests.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police cited a total of 201 cases, with a total detention count of 2209 people.

In the District of Dhaka outside of the city, 19 cases were cited, with a detention number of 185 people.

In the district of Narayanganj, 14 cases were cited, with a total detention number of 374 people.

In the city and the general district of Gazipur, 28 cases were cited, with 334 people being detained.

In the city and district of Chittagong, 28 cases were cited, with a total arrest detention count of 772 people

In the city and district of Rajshashi, 15 cases were cited, with a total detention count of 269 people.

In the district and city of Rangpur, 12 cases were cited, with 143 people being detained.

In the district of Mymensingh, 15 case were cited, with a total detention count of 149 people

In the district of Sylhet, 10 case were cited, with 128 people being detained.

In the district of Tangail, 10 cases were cited, with 164 people arrested.

In the district of Bogra, 14 cases were cited, with a total of 114 people being arrested.

In the district of Faridpur, 5 cases were cited, with a total count of 67 people being arrested.

In the district of Chandpur, 2 cases were cited, with 8 people arrested.

In the district of Panchagarh, 6 cases were cited, with 29 people arrested.

In the district of Sirajganj, 3 cases were cited, with 13 people arrested.

In the district of Thakurgoan, 4 cases were cited, with 50 people being arrested.

In the district of Pirojpur, 3 cases were cited, with 5 people arrested.

Thus, the total cases fall at 525 cases initiated in the year of 2024 against 5500 detainees.

The cases vary from students to rioters or local criminals, depending on the charge, several cases are solely against students.
