Did not knock me off my feet, but it was great movie, and well worth the admission price. Top 5 Marvel movie for sure.

I think its important for people

particularly OUR people

to be chill on something

JUST because someone

DID NOT THINK this movie was the GREATEST OF ALL TIMES?

doesn't make them suspect

Its art its subjective

AND

just because they aint raving about it

doesn't mean they hating.

Now that being said?

any haters will be sent to the mountains and face M'Baku's wrath

All praise Bast

side note

at least 5 black chicks in my theater brought their white boy friends to see BP lol

OK I'm back...

again you are 100% correct at least in the 2 theaters I was in?

I did NOT see any White Women with Black Men...

Only Black women brought their White man

make of that what you will...

however funny story

I was helping some of the other families cause they had kids and these fancy dresses and looking for seats. My daughter was in another section cause we reserved. There was a nice pretty young Black girl couple of seats over and I asked her if she could watch her. Nice girl. I got back and said look gotta go again to by some snacks can I please get you something, her white man was next to her...she first said no. then are you sure. I told her anything you want and she hesitated and I said Wakanda waits for no one. She finally said yes. Your man just sat there silent. I brought back the stuff she was like WOW you didn't have to buy larges etc etc dude said nothing but HELD the stuff. And when Killmonger made the final speech? I SAW this man get paler in the darkened theater

I say that to say this.

We gotta do better. ALL of us.

Somethings are for US.

We were damn near BRED in chains and blood to do for THEM. Learn them

It is time for US to learn and celebrate US.

and IF they want to participate fine.

My fourth time seeing it so far. Got my cousin's 7 year old daughter

I think it is time bgol parents have a serious discussion about this

@JofromthaNO @4 Dimensional

if ya'll seen this movie how did you feel about the silence portrayed and what would say the appropriate age is.

Cause my girl is under 10 and there was only really ONE scene that REALLY bothered here to the point she covered her eyes...

and that was the challenge of Killmonger and T'Challa...

she hated seeing to Black men who were supposed to be family do that.

Killmonger rage I believe was a just too much for here.

Did you have any issues personally or hear any issues with other kids?

I can see why it was PG-13. Even as a grown up, seeing the black men and women fighting each other upset me on a level I can't even explain. I think, as long as parents are willing to have some pretty thoughtful discussions afterwards with their children, it's possible to have them watch it. But, not below a particular age...3rd grade might be the youngest I let watch it.

In an special ABC News feature about the recently released Black Panther, Kevin Feige recalled the moment he first saw the film in its entirety.
"The movie finished, and I looked over at Ryan, I said, 'that's the best movie we've ever made.'"

"Clearly you have anticipation from an audience that has never seen themselves portrayed like this before," he said. Addressing some of the film's political undertones, Feige added, "Circumstances in the world have changed drastically since we started working on this movie four years ago. It was relevant then. I think it's more relevant now."

^

I saw ONE girl cry when she thought he died I mean TEARS.

I told you my daughter had a moment

and we had to have a VERY serious conversation on the way home about Killmonger which had people on the train shook.

I understand there is NO real blood etc but it it STILL powerful images that can stay with you.

I agree NO KIDS under 8 years old

but I think it might be too late for that.

As long as you're with your child and can be there to explain things then I don't see a problem.

Try connecting to real life if you can because there is some teachable moments there.

Children a sensitive especially if they haven't really seen violence like that.

By the way, I haven't seen it yet, but going during the week. I don't do crowds. Lol. My youngin' is in the forth grade. She not into these type of movies, but we'll see how she likes it or not like it.

I was there explaining to her the whole time any questions she had or any time I felt things need to be explained. She said when T'Challa "died" that she knew he didn't die. "He's going to come back. I know it."

Naw, he just doesn't fuck with movies. He says it often. He doesn't do TV's or movies, so it's not that big of a deal to him.

^^^

truth

but in this case he was getting cute and you saw he QUICKLY checked himself

(and I KNOW he knew better because he spoke on this SPECIFIC topic on his podcast)

that's why I ride with him

that is one smart Black man.

I dunno what to say, this is one of the best action sci-fi flicks of all time, like a mash up of Blade, Shaft in Africa, TRON, James Bond , Lord of The Rings and of course Star Wars. I'm still stunned at how Hollyweird took the high road with this one, no bullshit stereotypes, shuckin' and jivin', no AIDS references I mean nothing denigrating or derogatory. 5 fricking stars (*****) much love to BP's baby sis Shuri and I loves how they portrayed the sistas, tough and loyal but still womanly. See ya'll in the spoiler thread.
