Maybe a repost. This is hilarious to see the reaction but fucking crazy to listen to the guy speak.

A clip from this:

This is the shit I'm always on. Dude didn't even try to address the man's concerns and issues. At the very least, he could have opened with a "I'm sorry that you feel that way..." or anything that resembled empathy.

But deep down he doesn't give an actual shit about winning back anyone who had the audacity to step away. It was more important to double down on being right and continue to spread lies. You can see it on the audience's faces, just how jacked up a response this was.

The interviewer is full of shit here! People seem to forget that the key word in “illegal immigrant” is ILLEGAL! It’s a violation of a country’s LAWS to move there without permission. The guy didn’t say he wanted to leave America and move to another country illegally.

They SAY illegal but they don't differentiate between legal and illegal. In Springfield, Ohio, all the Haitians were there legally. It didn't stop Trump or his base from demonizing them and terrorizing that community.

That man both spoke of his immigrant background and didn't recognize the irony of moving to another country where he would be an immigrant, all the while disparaging people for coming here. Hate has warped these folks minds.

Xenophobia may be a part of it but it doesn’t dismiss or excuse the reality of 11 million+ ILLEGAL immigrants in the U.S.

If Republicans were really concerned about illegal immigration, they wouldn’t have tanked the bipartisan border bill and they would support immigration reform instead of a pandering to white Americans who believe their culture is being replaced.

Both Dems and Repubs support illegal immigration. But I think Dems will actually try to legalize them and Repubs won’t.

Key Findings

  • A majority of Americans (54%) say that “controlling and reducing illegal immigration” should be a very important foreign policy goal for the United States, up from a previous all-time low of 42 percent in 2018.
  • Nearly nine in 10 Republicans (86%) view this as an important goal for the United States—an all-time high in Council polling—while only a third of Democrats (34%) say the same.
  • Partisans are deeply divided on immigration policies. Of the eight different policies asked about in this survey, not one is supported by a majority of both Republicans and Democrats.
  • Republicans support increased deportations (89%), an expanded border wall with Mexico (87%), and increased penalties on businesses for hiring people without legal work authorization (85%).
  • But there are differences among Republican supporters. Non-Trump Republicans favor measures to facilitate people fleeing violence to legally immigrate (63%, vs. 38% of Trump Republicans). They also favor attempts to extend temporary visas to so that immigrants can legally stay in the United States (54%, vs. 30% of Trump Republicans). ‘
  • Democrats broadly favor policies that make it easier for immigrants to legally come to, and stay in, the United States. But moderates (55%) more than liberals (24%) see controlling and reducing immigration as a priority.
  • Moderate Democrats also support imposing greater penalties on businesses that hire without legal work authorization (68% vs. 40% liberals), increasing deportations (64% vs. 37%), and expanding the border wall and fence along the US-Mexico border (56% vs. 15%).

There's a lot of misunderstanding about immigration. It's how you view it and want to play with words. The Haitian probably entered the country illegally. Then they were given a protected status allowing them to remain in the United States. Usually protected status has an end date.

Refugees are supposed to be able to report to a Port of Entry like the bridge from Mexico and request political asylum. This is based on International and US law. Trump changed that and said that we would only accept so many a day. So instead of waiting in Mexico, they just go down the border and cross illegally. Once caught, they make a claim for political asylum and they're given due process for their claim. So they're illegal aliens but they're allowed to stay in the country legally while their asylum claim is being processed. Most claims are gonna be denied. Most people are actually economic refugees, not political. They're coming to America to work, not because their life is threatened in their homeland.
