Brooklyn, NY— Brooklyn Democratic Party Chair Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn issued the following statement on Nov. 5th's General Election results, as votes are still being counted in national races:
“The Brooklyn Democratic Party and I congratulate the projected and declared election winners and show respect for the nominees who fought hard but have fallen short.
I join our Democratic Party in expressing deep disappointment that Vice President Kamala Harris lost the Presidential Election and in losing the U.S. Senate Majority to Republicans.
We remain resilient as we see if we can flip the House Blue and make history with Rep. Hakeem Jeffries becoming the first Black Majority Leader, as Sen. Chuck Schumer remains our Democratic Senate Leader.
As the nation's largest Democratic county Party, we proudly galvanized the largest voter turnout in NYS and NYC. We must maintain that extraordinary engagement and unity, especially as we face turbulent times ahead.
We made real progress with tough Southern Brooklyn races, challenging GOP Assembly incumbents with newcomers who put up respectable fights—such as Chris McCreight and Joey-Cohen Saban (whose race is too close to call).
We remain relentlessly focused on winning back the State Senate, with Iwen Chu and other candidates who lost tough races in South Brooklyn—and we deeply congratulate Assemblymember William Colton and Senator Jessica Scacella Spanton, along with other victors.
We worked hard to keep Brooklyn blue, and I proudly congratulate our borough’s winners today in the U.S. Senate, House of Representatives, New York State Assembly and Senate, and the Judiciary. We will turn a new page to build a better Brooklyn.
As we turn a new page, we will continue to unify as Democrats, regardless of our differing views, to build a better future for Brooklyn and beyond.”

May not be true, but it's coming. I remember when the farmers got burned by Trump's trade policies the last time. Of course he was happy to bail them out, at least the white ones anyway.
