Ohio bill forbids professors from teaching that historic events like slavery or the Holocaust definitely did happen.

S.B.1 requires that students "reach their own conclusions about all controversial events."

"They've said Nazis should be taught from 'both sides' which is insane and very fascist," said Sydney Ball, one of the college students protesting the bill.

The bill also prohibits universities from taking positions on a "controversial belief or policy."

Defined as climate policies, politics, foreign policy, DEI programs, immigration policy, marriage, abortion or "any belief or policy that is the subject of political controversy."

Students protesting said this would make them "think long and hard before committing to stay in Ohio." What would you recommend they do?

its all a very clear strategy...if you muddy history then you can do whatever you want.

Lawyers use this strategy all the time. If you cant prove your client is innocent outright then you want to sow as much doubt in the case as possible. Ask young YG how he beast his case.

That applies to every aspect of society and social interaction. The ONLY way people (but just humans..every being on this planet) can navigate interacting in the world is to remember the history of the actions thats come before and compare it to future actions and from there you can determine whats right or wrong or helpful or harmful.

Denying the holocaust and white washing American slavery by saying people should come to their own conclusion can only generate alternate accounts with causes confusing and mistrust..so when something is introduced...like neo fascism. people will accept it because they wont know how to compare it to whats gone before it to know thats not something you want or should be allowed.

So what is the Black community or leaders doing to ensure Black history is told truthfully? We need some mitigating actions and measures.

Trump fires all 3 Democrats on privacy oversight board​


The White House informed the three Democrats on the board on Thursday it was seeking their resignation, but the members were officially terminated Monday.

It’s an action that removes some voices on the panel critical of some foreign surveillance actions — a detail that often had them aligned with right-wing Republicans who wish to curtail such programs.

It also stands to diminish oversight of the intelligence community.

PCLOB confirmed the dismissals and indicated it would need new members to continue its work.


“The White House terminated Chair Sharon Bradford Franklin, and Members Ed Felten and Travis LeBlanc from their positions as of 5 p.m. last Thursday. The agency, however, has significant ability to continue functioning with its full staff and remaining Member Beth Williams to continue the Board’s important mission, including its advice and oversight functions, and its current projects,” PCLOB spokesperson Alan Silverleib said in a statement.
