In my heart of hearts, I still have a working theory that the Flash movie (and its Flashpoint themes) were supposed to represent a soft reset of the DCEU, with Ezra at the forefront as a surviving character. But after all of the bad beats from Ezra, and despite how much Gunn wanted to push for it (for whatever reason), the powers that be decided that it was unsalvageable, and they went for the hard reset instead.He's not going to be Flash again, because James Gunn already killed the entire DCEU
... which I'm fine with, because I thought that the Flash movie was poorly executed overall. It was too all over the place to be the foundation of anything, and the few flashes of inspiration from Ezra's performance were offset by them trying to make things silly. So nothing lost either way.
