It probably wasn't even in the fine print. The network probably didn't even share that info. No need to when you are low level and starting out. That is why you have contract renegotiations. After a few of years of the show's success, you and your lawyers go back and THEN you start asking about the company's revenue and getting a percentage.

That’s how tv works though. They pay you x amount for a show. That doesn’t depend on how much they will make in advertising. I’m any business, your goal is to have a low overhead, which is what reality tv is. You would have to pay real actors a lot more for an actual tv show. Reality tv stars are not real stars so they don’t get paid shit. Just being on tv to them is good enough

Many companies use this tactic of banning/blacklisting people from entire industries if they fuck up. The best thing to do is to put the word out on their business practices so that other people can avoid them. This has been effective in punishing people that try to steal from me. They will be worse off when they lose their access to talent.
In any event, people like this are psychopaths, and the best thing to do is put a permanent ban on them. What they will slowly start to realize is losing opportunity.
