The rules prohibit homo sex, bestiality, etc. Not discussion of gay marriage, transgender rights or any subject. That has always been a porn rule, not a discussion rule.

I just made a post about an experience where meeting a trans person made me realize I didn't treat trans people with enough respect. I wanted to share something that helped me grow in hopes it would help others or get somebody to stop and think. Why is my opinion censored?

As long as a thread's content isn't expressly prohibited, mods need to shut the fuck up: Members provide the board's content, mods don't. Furthermore, when it comes to discussions, and debates, BGOL should follow the market place of ideas philosophy--i.e., if the thread isn't liked members won't reply and the thread will go away.

I saw the thread but never entered it, because it's subject matter didn't interest me. Moreover, I didn't know Lexx Diamond was the one who deleted it (he's one of the few mods I don't have a problem with). I assumed it was that bitch-ass adapting to prison life way too easily, because he prefers ass to pussy, faggit-ass, punk-bitch, SamSneed, who deleted the thread. Still, though, I meant what I wrote earlier. Other than what HNIC expressly prohibits, members should decide what's appropriate board content. Unless a thread violates the rules, or unless a mod gets multiple reports about a thread--and requests to delete it, a mod should not go rogue and delete a thread on his own. Mods get caught up in their feeling too much too, sometimes.

People need to be able to state their opinions without being ridiculed or called names. Never take what happens on the internet personal. The Internet may just be some people's(mods) reality which makes their lives truly sad. Within that reality they create a world of power that doesn't/can't exist in the real world. The are simply not man enough to make it happen.

If I'm somehow wrong for making a thread encouraging people to be more tolerant and more considerate, you should make clear what opinions aren't allowed and what topics are "propaganda" that can be deleted by an anonymous mod threatening a ban.

I think this is a clear line in the sand. He deleted a thread I made in January 2013 about President Obama being the first president to talk about transgender rights in an inaugural address. This guy Lexx is so irrationally disturbed by this topic that he thinks he can dictate what parts of an important presidential speech we can respond to.

These guys are supposed to be janitors and they want to be the idea police. They're here to keep the shit clean in the way provided for by the rules, not to make the rules up as they go along like a fucking e-sheriff.

Hmm, it's a slippery slope but I didn't see the original thread so I can't comment on that. In my experience Lexx has been a pretty fair cat so I've got to think there was something in the thread for him to act on it. The question itself would be answered no but again the question and the thread content are two separate issues. It makes things too confusing to tie them together as seems to be the case.

Let's take Lexx's description-- That it was a "pro tranny homo thread... Talking about your new transgender friend and how you understand." That's a caveman's description but basically true-- it was also about why I understand, what I was wrong about before and why we should all care. I'd repost it if I didn't want to avoid getting this thread deleted by reposting a bannable opinion. But, regardless of how you look at it, it was just, as Lexx said, "talking" about a belief.

The problem is the lack of consistency when it comes to the moderating on this site.
