So, Emily Blunt reportedly has said "no" to being Sue Storm. Which I am really ambivalent about. She's a very good actress but I have to trust Marvel's track record of casting.

Anyway, the rumor is also that Marvel wants to diversify the FF. Since they cast Kang as a Black man people are saying Reed should be Black because Kang is his descendent.

I disagree.

I won't mind if they keep them all white. I definitely think Reed, Sue, and Johnny should be white. I think Ben too but if anybody has to be Black (or other) it should be him. He'll be mostly CGI anyway.
I think a big part of what made the last FF movie so dreadful was the forced diversity of Michael B Jordan and Kate Mara as adopted siblings. That whole subplot felt weird and forced. If they had dropped the whole thing they would have had more time to focus on making a better movie instead of explaining why all the time.

So, what do y'all think about the FF being "diversified?"

So everybody is okay with a black Sue? Or Reed? Or Johnny? Sue and Johnny are siblings so you gotta figure what one is the other is.

Maybe an asian Ben?

All I know is Moleman used to get Sue in some serious bondage.

I really dont know how you do Moleman on screen lol.

But seriously, since they already cast Kang... I guess its a given that he will be the villain? Or will they use Kang in the Avengers movies?

CGI for Moleman, probably motion-capture virtuoso Andy Serkis.

I think Kang is coming in...shit I can't remember. Eternals maybe? I forgot but he's coming before the FF movie and Marvel usually gives you a few villains per flic.

Rege-Jean Page rumored to be next Black Panther.

I am VERY surprised she said no to this

I thought her and her husband were a damn near LOOK

I wasn't super excited on the choice of casting but I never thought it was BAD

I would think most actors would kill for a role like that Especially with all the uncertainty on theatrical releases moving forward.

and she a good actress I know she would have brought the character to life in a unique way but

on the diversity thing?

I;m good either way.

Its not CRITICAL

But it would be cool if Mr. fantastic were Asian or middle eastern and how he was treated reflected that could be an interesting dynamic against who they cast as Doom and as Ben.

This ‘Fantastic Four’ rumor is going to devastate Marvel fans

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally back, as the first Phase 4 show started streaming on Disney+ in mid-January. The first season of WandaVision is now available, and the first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premiered on Friday. Marvel will continue to release new Falcon episodes every Friday, followed by other TV shows and movies later this year, assuming the pandemic doesn’t complicate things again.

It’s actually the movies that will move the story forward, while the TV shows add more context to characters we would otherwise spend less time with during a regular film. That became clear as we got closer to the WandaVision finale, and the last episode cemented that idea. The TV show wasn’t supposed to introduce members of the Fantastic Four or X-Men teams or kickstart the bigger Phase 4 storyline. We’ll have to wait for the Marvel movies to do that. But while we wait, we keep seeing all sorts of MCU rumors about upcoming attractions. One of them concerns the Fantastic Four film, and it’s something fans will both love and hate.

Marvel announced in mid-December that Jon Watts would direct the first Fantastic Four film without specifying any details about cast members. Fans have theorized about who could play the team members ever since Disney’s Fox purchase was completed, focusing on a particular couple. John Krasinski and Emily Blunt would be perfect for Reed Richards and Sue Storm, many said. And we’ve had plenty of rumors that claimed the husband and wife duo would play the Fantastic Four couple.

The latest update comes from Small Screen, which claims that Krasinski and Blunt have indeed been in talks for the roles. That’s the good news. The bad news is that talks with Blunt have supposedly broken down, as the actress isn’t keen on inking a multi-picture deal that would directly impact their family life.

Here’s what a source familiar with Marvel’s projects told the site:
What I can confirm is that Emily Blunt has now ruled herself out of the running for Sue Storm in FF [Fantastic Four]. She was in talks with Marvel but opted not to sign the deal with them because it would have been for multiple films. She didn’t want to have to put her family through that.
Krasinski might still be in the running for Reed Richards, but the source thinks that given that Blunt turned down the offer, he might do the same:
Things with Krasinski aren’t so clear. He has been in contact with Marvel for the role of Reed Richards. However, there still haven’t been any new developments. Yet, Blunt turning down the Sue Storm role might be indicative of what could happen with Krasinski. The idea was to have both of them in the movie as Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman.
Other recent reports have said that Jennifer Lawrence might be considered for the Invisible Woman role.

Fantastic Four won’t premiere earlier than 2023, given Marvel’s current calendar. A rumor said recently that the film might launch in late July 2023, although Marvel is yet to confirm a launch date. Marvel still has plenty of time to find its perfect cast. An announcement should follow at some point in the not-so-distant future, especially if any of the upcoming Marvel films will include Fantastic Four cameos or references.

Annahilus, in the first movie I would have them get sucked into the negative zone

Word is they're in the quantum realm and AntMan will find them in AntMan 3.

I don't know if AM3 is in production or not but they'd have to cast the parts before it's released. Whoever's in the mid-credits scene or however they'll be introduced can always come back and reshoot. Just has to be done before final edit.

I always said Blunt was iffy because these are major characters and it's going to be a 10-year job easily. I didn't think it'd be because of their kids (who by the way go back-and-forth from UK and US, go figure), I thought it would be that she wanted to do more diverse roles.

Like you I wasn't overjoyed but I knew she has the chops for the role. I even posted a picture of her in a bathing suit showing what they had to work with. Certainly no Scarjo.

Karasinski is the one who was quoted as saying he'd love to be in the MCU and he was a fan of Kevin. Maybe the comics too? Dunno.

Keep the FF4 all Cac...

Fox was limited to not having Marvel's full library....

Use existing Black Characters like Black Panther (Shuri), Storm or Blue Marvel who already have comic history with the FF4....

Wyatt Wingfoot is Native American ...
and Nomar should be South American...

Spectrum (Monica Rambeau) since it seems the MCU is using the Agents of SWORD route for the FF4 introduction...

Or they can pull a Watchmen and make the Silver Surfer a black man...there is nothing in his comic history to where he has to be the lone surviving, blond hair Cac of a destroyed planet.... Lol

I guess that's easy enough to explain although Reed is a lot smarter than dr pym he would find a way out of the quantum realm all on his own
