Typical right wing point of view. The ole if you take away guns what’s next cars argument. Strawman bullshit. So because a car can be used as a weapon we shouldn’t do anything about guns. Criminals will always be able to get guns. Take away guns from citizens and cartels and mobs take over and we become 3rd world overnight.
Our government has not proven that it can be trusted enough for the citizens not to have guns and they use the same, tired old scare tactics on the public that only works on gun-fearing citizens. Politicians have made it a right vs left argument but its really a fear vs knowledge argument. People will freak bout mass shootings, etc. but completely ignore the millions of people who are responsible gun owners who never commit crimes and never have issues in favor of the exceptions.

The UK and other countries, as a matter of fact, the United States is the only industrialized country with a high gun death rate. That’s a damn shame. I was living abroad I would not visit America.
The MAIN area to focus on is who is legally getting guns in the first place.
Make sure felons, abusers, mentally ill people don't have access.
It can be a slippery slope though. Who determines who is really mentally fucked up? They could start bending the laws to try to keep as many minorities from owning weapons as possible. Who knows what overly legislating gun control will get us.

A number of politicians have been shot since the 1800s. It’s a rare occurrence and doesn’t cause alarm.
My point is when shootings/assassination against politicians become a routine incident the way it is amongst regular citizens.
Let me go on record as saying, I've been a big fan of Kurt Russell for as long as I can remember.
That dude has been a part of my "entertainment" life since I was a child all the way to my adulthood.
I can easily recall several movies, series & TV shows he starred in that will always be near and dear to me.
I've also known he's a Republican/Libertarian/Conservative for a while now and (for the most part) he's always kept his political views private.
But...
I vehemently disagree with him on this issue.
Never forget, Kurt Russell is an ACTOR.
He's speaking the usual Right wing/2nd Amendment talking points which are pretty outdated at this point.
And sadly; the only REAL threat of a president ever overstepping his boundaries to become a dictator comes from a party he probably supports...
