Agreed and I wish people understood. Ali is the GOAT as a human being, an icon, an example, a leader, a role model, etc etc etc. Doesn't make him the best. But he's certainly the "greatest".He speakin emotionally not factually. Ali was NOT the GOAT Boxer. He got his ass whooped plenty to prove it. He was bigger than his boxing tho, and most people call him the GOAT because of their admiration, not cuz boxing shit. It’s that simple. Roy Jones is clearly one of those people that can’t separate the two. Floyd is a J Cat outside the ring with his all lives matter BS, but in the ring goddamn. Dude was something else.

That’s an opinion I can respect because u separated the 2. That’s the best u can ask for. Whenever someone can’t, their opinion becomes mootMost people who follow boxing think Ray Robinson was the greatest ever.
Ali was as you say Bigger Than Boxing. He was a hero to all of us kids, back in the day.
He took a stand when most folks wouldn't and was willing to pay the price for his stand.
I love Ali, but he is not the greatest and neither is Floyd.
Robinson was a monster that fought around the clock. And he invented a lot of the techniques still used today. He was the most naturally gifted boxer of all time which is why boxers and people who’ve given their lives to boxing all day him. Floyd is the most skilled and most perfected I’ve ever seen. Little to no flaws, when he was perfect it was perfect boxing, like the Canelo fight, or the Castillo fight. Floyd fasholy a coon and a clown and most likely a woman beater, but god damn that nigga damn near perfect in the ring was my point. We gotta separate the two.He also beat more world champions than any of em. Roy didn’t have the best comp, and the better the comp he had the worst he looked. He was dynamic against good fighters, but was mid against great fightersAgreed and I wish people understood. Ali is the GOAT as a human being, an icon, an example, a leader, a role model, etc etc etc. Doesn't make him the best. But he's certainly the "greatest".
Floyd is a coon and a clown, but he may be the best to ever box. I wish I knew more about Sugar Ray Robinson to definitively understand why he could be.
We can’t play the what if game. What if Floyd never broke his hands up and retained his knockout ability. What would his career look like if he could do all he did and still have other one punch KO power? How scary is that to think about? What have to deal with what we have. Ali, in the ring was great. Just nowhere near the greatest (in the ring of course) outside the ring his character was great, but as a human being he did a whole lot of BS. He wasn’t as great as portrayed. What he did to Joe Frazier was DISGUSTING. How he treated black women was no better. We romanticize Ali KIR. He wasn’t how he’s remembered. He was human after allBut what fighter lost 4 years of their PRIME years fighting the government. Just imagine Ali not losing all that time not many would be able to beat him. He came back and fought all those heavy hitters and showed he had an all time great chin to go with the gifts he had.
