No, but it’s does rise the question of; does school endowment effect how much a student athlete gets paid if the school is to be responsible for paying?

If HBCU's go hard and promote this new reality, their recruitment and profile will probably go higher. Hell Deion is pissed that the last draft didn't draft any HBCU's. There is going to be a market shift.

Kind of seemed like more good black athletes were starting to look at HBCUs and now with the ability to make money off your likeness, would that be the nail in the coffin for us

Then how would paying athletes be any different than how things are today?

HBCU's don't exist because of the amount of money their football and basketball teams make
Black kids were starting to look at HBCUs. Before, if you were talented, they will find you regardless. Now you probably leaving 100,000 plus on the table by because of the lack of exposure

When were black kids looking at HBCU's?

HBCU's have existed fine for the past 40 years. Sports is far from the problem.

NIL will never kill HBCUs. If they made it through a pandemic, they'll make it through anything. Hell it will probably help them since any money the athletes can earn can help their school potentially.
