Speaking of Hitler, we need to keep an eye on the rise of right-wing extremism in Western Europe. It's been brewing for a while in France, Italy, and Germany (especially Eastern Germany) and is becoming more mainstream, crossing over into politics like it did in the 1920s. It’s not a 1:1 comparison, but Hitler’s rise didn’t happen overnight. He went to jail, came back, and rallied people who felt marginalized like their country was slipping away. They ran for office, gained votes, and eventually consolidated power. If people aren’t conscious and careful, history could repeat itself. Maybe it already has.
