We talk black music all the time. I first off apologize to all my down souf brethren for being a city slicker making this thread:cool: if it makes it better both sides of my fam is from da Sip. This thread is about regional near famous music legends whose music play in juke joints all over the south. So with that said I will shoot first.

A must in your old school playlist while smashing a fine lady.:sleazy:

What is this, the 1940s?!

Believe it or not some of the fam and peeps in the rural areas of the souf still call up north city blacks city slickers or citified.

With that said post some southern juke classics. I am always looking to expand my black music horizons:ipod:

Final song, not blues but an important record, dedicated to my father and his cassette tape collection of all this type of music...if it doesn't have soul it doesn't have a purpose.

Appreciate the O.V. Wright, Luther Ingram, and William Bell:yes:. I know Spinners is soul for sure but they from the norf(Michigan). I am really looking for southern regional legends of this genre. Womack, James Brown, and Johnny all got big and were well known outside of the south.

Not sure if his qualifies as soul but it he is a legend in the bayou I-10 corridor. He was like a down south Prince in a way.
