Sandy Springs Police Department responded to a call regarding a drunk couple arguing at a residential complex in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Upon arrival, the responding officer heard a woman screaming inside the house. When the officer entered, she observed a man on top of a woman on the pool table. The couple quickly separated. The man was on the phone with his girlfriend's mother, describing his girlfriend’s destructive behavior. The officer first spoke with the man to hear his side of the story, while the woman repeatedly interrupted. Once an assisting officer arrived, he spoke with the woman separately. The man explained that they had both been drinking, and he had taken her car keys to prevent her from driving while intoxicated. Furious, the woman demanded the keys back and scratched his face in the process. He eventually gave her the keys, but instead of leaving, she returned inside the apartment and began to cause chaos. She smashed a chandelier and attempted to throw pool balls at the windows and TV. The man said he had tried to restrain her, and that’s when the officer arrived and saw him on top of her on the pool table. He added that they live together, but a few days ago, they argued after she saw a post on Instagram of him with another woman. They had a fight, leading her to stay at a hotel for the past couple of days. The officer documented the man's minor injuries and took photos of the damage to the apartment. Meanwhile, the assisting officer spoke with the woman, who claimed she was the one who called the police first and insisted she was the victim. She was upset that the first officer hadn’t spoken to her initially. The assisting officer de-escalated the situation and explained that it didn’t matter who called first. The woman remained agitated but calmed down. She continued to argue that she should have been given the first chance to explain her side of the story. The officer allowed her to retrieve her phone and purse so she could inform her friend that everything was fine. Throughout, she kept insisting that she should have been the first to tell her side of the story. Paramedics arrived on the scene to ensure no one was seriously injured. After hearing both sides, the woman was arrested, charged with battery, and transported to Fulton County Jail.
