I definitely feel you on all of this and this is coming from someone who use to use to work at a few DC clubs. I started off doing security and end up being a promoter. The mentality is to get paid as much is you can without pissing off your regulars. I never understood folks being pressed to attend homecoming events because most of the clubs are too overcrowded to actually enjoy yourself. It's very uncomfortable and down right stupid to get dressed up and have a gang of folks all up on you. I heard Love was totally fucking insane at the Trey Songs show. They said it was way over 5000 people there. Fuck that! I hated attending HU events even when I promoted. I usually just stood outside to diffuse any potential problem with the regulars.. Out of town folks spend money but they are just here for one day. The regulars spend money on tables just about every week.

Now I only attend the Black Caucus events (CBC). It's different crowd and I actually do well in terms of networking and promoting my current business.
