Cersei had two chances to kill Dany. When they brought the whight in season 7 when they all met, and when Dany came to the gates. I know it would of ended the books/show but a smart person would of ended her ass right then and there. Fuck your army bitch.
No one answered the question.
What happened between the end of the last episode and the beginning of this one???!!!!!
Cersei had them! She could have had her archers hit them up!!!! What happened?
She just let them go back to camp?
Overconfidence. Denial of what can come. Never forget Tywin told all of us about Cersei. She thinks she is smarter than everyone else. She thinks she is safe with the Golden company and scorpions. She thinks her men will fight for her no matter what. Etc. Cersei isn’t you. She isn’t me. She doesn’t have to do exactly what we would do.
^^^ Agreed. It was overconfidence.
Also let’s not forget that ‘killing people immediately’ doesn’t always happen like that on tv shows.

Enemies don’t always take advantage of their opportunities to get rid of each other, like we assume they will.
HBO: The Sopranos is the perfect example.
New Jersey & New York were literally at War with each other.... but whenever they AGREE to have a ‘sit down’... and they are ‘just talking’.... nobody is trying to kill their enemy ‘right then & there’.

Even if they have the upper hand & have them severely outnumbered.
For example >> Tony Soprano shows up in NYC with Silvio & Christopher.... they are ALONE & severely outnumbered.
All 3 of them could have been easily killed in the bar, right on the spot...
But sometimes folks DO take out their enemies during a sit down... and
HBO: The Wire is a perfect example of this, when Little Kevin gets abducted after talking to Marlo...
Ask yourself... are those Mobsters on the Sopranos ‘just not as smart’ as Marlo was on the Wire?
Either way it goes... It’s always done for ‘dramatic purposes’.

Because that’s HOW tv shows are written. It’s not always as ‘black & white’ as we think it should be.
But a lot of folks who have been complaining about these last few episodes of “Game of Thrones” seemed to have forgotten these basic aspects of television.
I been watching a lot of these ‘YouTube reactors’ who been bitching about everything... they sit & watch the show.... and the whole time they are constantly, constantly, constantly second-guessing every single second of every single scene & every piece of dialog

... so by the end of the episode they have formed an opinion of ‘how the episode should have gone’ in their heads... no matter ‘how many times they are wrong’

... and they start bitching when the show doesn’t match what they THOUGHT should’ve happened.
Like these 2. Every single scene they are steady ‘predicting’ what is about to happen...

.. and getting it wrong.
Meanwhile, notice how the folks who simply just ‘watch what is happening’ are enjoying the final episodes a whole lot MORE

simply because they are not constantly trying to predict every single outcome... of every single second... of every single character... and every single event...
