Nintendo found a niche with playability, (solo, group, home or on the go)
So unlike the big boys they don't need a lot of horsepower and tech under the hood.....these are the damn near the same graphics from the N64, just higher resolution
If they can maintain a relatively mild price point (about half of the big boys) and off year launches (1 or 2 years after Sony / Microsoft drops new consoles), stick to those sweet spots and they will last another 30/40 years......
At this point Sony and MS are just competing with each other, neither one willing to bow out and give in to the other
