To some degree, radio severely limited artists like Ledisi that fit that category.
Radio pushed more dance and younger artists . Back in the soul radio days,
Artists like Jeff Redd (not neo soul),Chaka Khan, and. Hi-Five different age brackets but can.have "spins" on R&b radio.
Nowadays older soul artists.dont get the same play like they used too.

Erykah Badu,Maxwell types had a surge but.neo soul went back underground.

Even hip hop R&B like Mary J types are not prominent with the younger generation.
ClearChannel and consolidation of radio conpanies killed hurt all forms of "soul music" with formula music and radio is not as big as it used to be.
There are room for all forms of R&B but thats not the forumla or marlet thats selling. More ratings more Adverisers so radio is gossip or children's acts now. Older stations are fading away or the soul music dont translate.to.todays kids to carry on cause these records are not chart topping music. You dont need to have a voice to sing.and.make.hits

"White soulful folks" the good vocal one has always made their entry in that category.

even Robin Thicke was more soulful but switched up a bit fort he Bruno Mars watery soul sound.

Its a.niche down market and we dont support. Faith Evans has new cd im.copping but black bloggers media not pushing these artists much,

Techno made by blacks in Detroit and House made in Chicago supported by white europeans who hired black dj's and limited black radio spins and no white spins has been white washed to the point of blacks are surprised techno and house blacks created.

Bruno mars is a version of that but you had funk white groups but some migrate to disco. You will always have sprinklebof soulful white artists but new age radio is catering to more younger cats that are not into funk or soul.

I hear what you're saying, but let's be real: white folks gentrified R & B. Rock died & they needed a new place to plant their flag and that's in R & B, white R & B became general pop music.
