He was a Giant,he took what he had and made it work for him,a lot of players wouldn't be allowed to do such a thing(J.R Rider)they will boot your ass right out of the NBA.

The league needed him he was the sinker for his generation....

I missed the J.R. Rider incident. I'm going to have to research him...

I know it sound cliche but he really the best "pound for pound" player ever. And what he was able to accomplish at his size is unprecedented- He was so good for so long you forget he's playing handicapped in a league of giants. Oh, and he's inarguably a top 3 basketball athlete ever with LeBron & MJ. There, I said it!

Crazy to think how even better he might be if he was around 6'6" or so like others. Then again, he might not be as quick :dunno:

He was a remarkably skilled player. But ultimately he was a loser. He never made other players better, and aside from one remarkable run to the finals, he had great individual stats but his teams didn’t do much.

Over Curry? Magic? Kawhi? Kobe? Kareem? Wilt? I know it's all opinion, but I'd rather have a peak Jason Kidd than a peak Iverson.

He said "Athlete". Athletically, the only player your mentioned who's truly gifted athletically is Wilt and maaaybe Kobe.

He was a remarkably skilled player. But ultimately he was a loser. He never made other players better, and aside from one remarkable run to the finals, he had great individual stats but his teams didn’t do much.

Iverson averaged 26 points and 6 assists per game, he averaged more assist than Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. He dragged bums to the Finals and won game one. He was a great player!

"Loser"?

There's only one champion at the end of every year, every other players a "Loser".

Iverson was the truth. I just hate he fell off so hard. It's like with Roy Jones Jr. Once that supernatural quickness went away with age, he couldn't do his magic. But with his quickness???!?!? Shit. Fun to watch. Other than Lebron, he is the only cat I seen drag a team to the finals.

I never really liked his style of play...:dunno:

me either.
i never liked 'shoot first' point guards
i still cringe watching Curry

many people love him and thought he could do no wrong
however, game recognize game, to me, A.I., Kobe, and T-Mac were interchangeable

so all that 'he never won' talk is bullshit
switch A.I. for Kobe and you'd of gotten the same results

You two should hangout together and watch and speak about a sport that you both know about

Allen Iverson 26.7 ppg 6.2 assists 3.7 rebounds

Kobe Bryant 25.2 ppg 4.7 assists 5.2 rebounds

Basically the same numbers but one’s one of the GOATS and the other’s a “Loser” in your opinions.

You have to beyond the stats young brother.

Many considered him one of the toughest athletes in all of sports.

As far as gunning, he never had a great all star backup for his career. He had to play the solitary game to complete.

As an athlete< Iverson is one of the best to EVER play sports! Watch his HS football highlights. What most people don't remember is that he was a better football player than basketball... NO CAP. He never had true help in his career with the 76ers. Derrick Coleman, Chris Webber, Arron McKee, Eric Snow... no help. The Man changed the game of basketball and if he wasn't such a knucklehead (btw been around him in REAL LIFE multiple times) he could have been more than his legend. He is a hall of famer and people still be like.... How good is he really??

Probably because you never played or know about true struggle? Anyway, he was good enough to make Hall of Fame. Maybe that counts for something? To live forever. Long after you’re gone. Let that sink in.
Probably I just have a good, old fashioned opinion. Maybe that's worth something. Or maybe you cannot think, so naturally you don't understand that people can think about something independently.

only if iverson and barkley could have been in the same era...that would have been ugly as fuck! thats a solid deep playoff run EVERY season and maybe 2 rings....not back to back but definitely 2 rings in a 10 year period...if they played together. :hypnotised:

with that said...as you put it dude was a kuncklehead.... when he got in trouble for letting his friend use his car to do some kind of drug (i think it was weed) run....told you everything you needed to know about that guy:smh::smh::smh:

Not the way IVERSON SHOOK JORDAN. And put a poll up Who was the better player one on one
Iverson vs Grant hill / Iverson vs Penny - IVERSON WOULD WIN ON BOTH TOPICS! IVERSON’s heart and still scored 26- 31 pts WHILE BEING INJURED PRONE being knocked down with no fouls being called. Ref Steve Jaffe had it in for IVERSON and purposely gave him shit and no calls- and that was documented

Like I said I used to have season tickets to 76ers back when it was Wachovia center then Wells Fargo. To see that lil nigga in action was like watching that ball in the pinball machine. His patent crossover FUCKED EVERYBODY UP he was the fastest, smallest guy on the court. And wasn’t scared to bring it to the paint head on.. knocked down n still came up for more. Went toe to toe in the face with Rodman, Shaq, Karl Malone. Shit Wade, Bron, and others looked up to A.I. How ya gonna question bout him being hyped WHEN HE’S a HOF!!! Without A.I it wouldn’t be a Wade, no Kyrie.. or some others

Oh let’s also remember to have all that talent and barely practiced EVER! So just think how good he coulda been If he did practiced like he should of 76ers organization let him get away with murder for damn near 10 years. ( quick story) I remember when Iverson supposed to be DNP for home game vs Magic( round the time Larry brown was tired of his shit) well It was 9:45pm 3rd quarter of the game- I’m on South. St( philly cats know it’s bout 15 min away from Well Fargo arena) and here goes Iverson in his Burgundy Bentley chillin with his crew- BUT THIS NIGGA CALLED OUT SICK :roflmao:talk bout Giving 0 FUCKS

I mean, Mike’s myth is greater than his legend.
It was type in all caps that AI was the only one to shake Mike, as if Mike is unshakable.

But prime for prime, barring no injuries?!
I’d take Grant Hill any day!
People forget that Grant Hill was LeBron James but with Jordan’s killer instinct.

Iverson was one of the greatest players ever. Yes, he acted out at times. But when he hit the court, he gave it all he had. I loved watching him play. His heart was as big as a mountain. They don't come like that anymore.
