ISSUE ONE is not for the benefit of us. it's for the benefit of white people. Issue one covers felony drugs. Weed is not a felony drug it's a misdemeanor. They created this issue because they dont' want to have to treat white people like they did black people during the crack epidemic. nobody wants to see a mini van driving soccer mom in a prison jumpsuit, thus issue one was created.

they sugar coat these ads to bamboozle black people as if it's the greatest thing to us when in reality it does nothing for us. black people aren't into the heavy drugs that spiked that stats in ohio in the past 3 years it's all white people.

I don't know bruh, isn't weed classified by these

anti creation demons on the same schedule as cocaine and heroin...

so a certain amount of weed would be considered a felony...

I feel what you are saying.. but any laws that takes away some power from authorities who are already abusing the power they got is all right with me...

if I aint mistaken a pound of weed in most states would make it a federal offense and they might even hit you with a king pin charge...

  • Up to 100 grams: The Ohio legislature has decriminalized the possession of small amounts of marijuana. Violations in this range are minor misdemeanors, meaning that there is no jail time involved and convictions are not included on a person’s a criminal record. However, violators may be fined up to $150.
  • 100 to 200 grams: Possession of marijuana in this weight range carries a misdemeanor charge with fines up to $250 and up to 30 days of incarceration.
  • 200 to 1,000 grams: Possession of this amount and above is a felony charge. Violators face fines of up to $2,500 and 1 year in jail.
  • 1,000 to 20,000 grams: Penalties include fines of between $5,000 and $10,000 and up to five years in prison.
  • 20,000 to 40,000 grams: Penalties include a minimum of five years in prison (maximum of eight years) and between $7,500 and $15,000 in fines.
  • 40,000 grams or more: Violators may be fined between $10,000 and $20,000 and incarceration for a minimum of eight years.

so half a pound is still a felony and you are advising people to vote No on some spite shit because crakkas oxy addicts will benefit..

a quarter pound can impede your ability to get gainful employment because any sentence that leads to incarceration is troublesome

The problem is it will exponentially benefit others more so than us.... I'm all for legislation that reduces the penalties for weed and other drugs, but it has to be just and fair.... There are more of us that will get caught with misdemeanor amounts of weed that will not benefit from this law. As opposed to all the whites getting popped with the hard core pills and whatnot the nation views as an "epidemic" or "crisis,"... This is a curse wrapped up like a gift.

Its like the whole casino issue years back. Ohio voters and citizens got so fooled by the want / need to have a casino they left a whole lot of money in the billionaires pockets while emptying theirs when voting for the most recent issue.... I'm not opposed to a casino law, but it has to be the right law.

I'm not opposed to a drug law to help decriminalize ish, bit it has to be the right one.... You think after they pass this and those private prisons with quotas start thinning out, the state is then gonna pass a law reducing jail time for misdemeanor weed? Hell no!

Just smoke and be discreet, like everybody been doing, if you dumb enuf to drive with an ounce in your center console, then you prolly too dumb to have cast a vote today!

this man gets it....

if you're a smoker, the obvious smart thing to do is to not walk around with more then 70z of weed on you

that's the current law

the new law will do nothing in regards to weed. it just drops the heavier drugs into misdemeanor categories like it was weed. For example, current state law would punish someone with a fourth-degree felony if they were found with just under 1 kilogram of marijuana, just under 10 grams of cocaine or crack or just under 5 grams of heroin. under the new law those would be simple misdemeanors

the most important thing about this law is it doesn't do anything for dealers caught with a certain amount. 200 grams of weed is still felony under the new law same as it was the old law.

Thanks for clarifying......Makes sense now.

They were talking about this I think yesterday on Karen Hunter saying it was intentionally written to confuse voters.....

the law really above all else covers those who use fentanyl in ohio due to the law that cracked down on it a few days ago. people can have up to 20 grams of it and it's only a misdemeanor

Hmmmm. Some dealers got caught pushing that fentanyl and slammed with time. Those dealers look like you and I. Someone white Over dosed and the book got thrown. I personally voted no. Crazy how many people getting done in by fentanyl, but I have the same amount of sympathy they had for our people with the crack cocaine hit us, none whatsoever. Let it rage. They can pick themselves up by the bootstraps.

The problem is that there's no treatment or drug court mandate. An addict gets caught with dangerous drugs and gets released right back into the same environment that got him hooked, only this time he's more desperate.

that's why the law is for the users doesn't do anything for dealers

...are soccer moms being pulled over like that?!?!? In order for white folks to get caught like us, you kinda have to targeted like us! Black dude doing 20over that whole car is getting taken apart. Soccer mom doing 20over MAYBE a ticket if she's giving those white girl tears and be on their way.

This whole thing seems odd, like what is the whole purpose of this, what is this going to usher in?

I had heard about polling places being changed without notice, I didn't realize it was black areas.

From the comments:

Those nasty Ohio Republicans tried something even more sneaky at the last minute: moved the polling places of a shitload of Black voters, five days ago.

Thankfully Snowbored & his org Hope Springs were on it like bees: his canvassers & drive-voters-to-polls volunteers had the actual polling places on maps on their cellphones. They were able to show the correct info to voters and drive them to the correct places if needed.
This worked wonders.

IMHO, Hope Springs was instrumental in making this victory happen.
Everyone go here & read: What they did & how they did it:
TODAY IS THE DAY! Rockin' GOTV in Ohio. Get Out the Vote!
Snowbored has totally got this, and here comes 2024.

We need to five him all the help we can. For example every canvasser needs a clipboard. Sig up for five or ten bucks a month, get three or four canvassers the key tool they all need. Sounds like a small thing, but it makes all the difference when equipping literally thousands of volunteer canvassers in every state.

So, even that five or ten dollar a month regular donation, helps put three or four new canvassers on their routes, each of whom gets dozens of new or inactive voters to vote: that's one heck of a force multiplier.

We can do this.

Make history!

2024 is going to be real interesting in OH, this was a major lose for the GOP and could be signs of things to come. Those young voters the GOP have been fucking over are coming for them.

These dumb asses just got smoked on abortion again. If they want to win, they better just drop this abortion shit and treat the religious right like  "So who else you going to vote for?" Lord knows that shit works. This abortion issue is the dumbest shit. Political suicide at this point.
