Conspicuous consumption, having the latest thing with a visual marker to denote superiority to all the plebs with less expensive but capable devices.

Plateaued compared to the previous models.
An iPhone 13 is just as good as a 15, it'll browse, call, take HD photos/videos, GPS, etc...
There's no real need to upgrade unless your current device is so old that it can't iOS update or has physical issues (battery, screen, etc...)

Phone is a phone at the end of the day, I give credit to apple for making that experience as easy as possible.

Works and will last for damn near a decade that's amazing...

but after a while it's the same thing, don't expect a phone to make you happy, you have to actually use it to be happy.

Can't take these nerd nikkas seriously, you ain't worrying bout no phone when you out and meeting people and having fun, can't take isolated youtube nikkas just looking for views too seriously.

Phones along with other items come with a new model each and every year. Sometimes there's big changes and sometimes there's not.

My opinion is that there's not much they can do with the current form factor to blow anyone away so all the complaints of it's the same phone are unnecessary.

And no imm not talking about you, just the noise regarding the phone and internet reviews.

A MacBook's a MacBook, there's nothing mind blowing that's gonna change about it other that upgrading it and adding new features.

So RCS messaging went live and when it's working with iPhones it's outstanding. So far I'd say about 1/4 of my friends have updated to IOS18. That will get better over time but it is nice when it's working.
