Exactly..I do it too and mostly have a drawer full of condiment packages from take home, which I use if I happen to run out of ketchup or mayo until those items are replaced.

I use a diffuser to scent my home. 20.00 of essential oils might last a year. Much cheaper than candles. I also learned to melt down candles when they run out of wick and make a new candle. Got tired of throwing out scented wax just cause the wick was burned out.
