OK, i know this has probably been talked to death on this board, but i have to speak on this. I was shooting a promotional video for a company the other day at this nightclub and they had a krump competition and a breaking competition. now i know krumping in big out west, but here in the east? thing is, maybe it is a generational thing, but i just don't get it.
I grew up in the 80's and remember break dancing very well, and I know a lot of cats may think break dancing is a dead art form, but you do have to seek it out. Thing is, break dancing has been all but forgotten by blacks and Latinos, where as young white and non black and Latino folks still practice it in on a large scale, especially worldwide. even when i see young blacks or Latins attempt to break dance they are more or less krumping and throwing a few breaking moves in there for show. My question is this, what do all of y'all feel about this krumping business. personally i think think its ridiculous. case in point, what are the dance moves? are there any dance moves, to me it just looks like people breaking out in seizures. break dancing had legitimate dance moves, ie: head spins, windmills.
