Qatar PM met Hamas, Israeli delegations

Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has met with negotiators from Hamas and Israel in an effort to secure a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, sources have told Al Jazeera Arabic.
The sources said that, under the proposed deal, Qatar and Egypt will be supervising the return of the displaced from the southern Gaza Strip to the north. The Israeli army would withdraw from the Netzarim Corridor in central Gaza in stages.
Hamas also requested that the Israeli army withdraw during the first stage of the agreement to an area within 700 metres (2,297 feet) from the Gaza border, the sources said

So all of a sudden there is a ceasefire right before Biden leaves office so he can add it to his record :hmm:

Might seem that way but many of sites talking about them ninjas Trump have. Saying them Israeli wasn’t to fond of them, saying they real businessmen.
I’m guessing they realized they really ain’t politicians and they won’t play that back and forward on deals

many suggest that Trump pressure over Bibi's head was strong but there's also that battlefield reality for more than a month Israelis failed in Jabalya (nothern Gaza) and even worst they found out that the Hamas could still escalate things !

apparently Trump's Mideast envoy Steve Witkoff is the guy who finally convinced Bibi but it's not clear what Trump will offer in exchange some say part of the west Bank others a green light to resume that war once he's in office I guess we'll find out what deal the Orange Emperor has made !

Edit :

feels like the second option is more relevant ...

I actually think both are valid options

West Bank being annex rumors been floating around…

Restarting the conflict been something, high ranking Israeli officials stressed.
There’s no reason a withdrawal from the Philly corridor should hold up a ceasefire, we can always go back. Noone will stop us from doing that”

Dude thoughts were align in that direction

given how incompetent the IDF is I think they'll take the first option remember they're only strong when facing weakness and even Bibi's general have no taste for another round in Gaza plus the IDF is a reservist army -> if those soldiers stop showing up it's over ! the west Bank on the other hand it's like Syria !

Agreement could lead to increased Rafah crossing access: Former Egyptian official

Speaking to Al Jazeera from Cairo, Hussein Haridy, Egypt’s former assistant foreign minister, said the agreement should lead to some access through the Rafah crossing between southern Gaza and Egypt.
“Fortunately, the agreement announced today in Doha stipulates that the Israelis would start withdrawing gradually from the Philadelphi Corridor, and the Palestinians would be managing the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing,” Haridy said.
“That would enable us to open the Rafah crossing, to surge aid and humanitarian assistance to Gaza.”
Haridy also said he understands the agreement would mean injured Palestinians could pass through the crossing to get medical assistance.
“Ultimately, when the Israeli forces would withdraw completely from the Gaza Strip, and there is a Palestinian authority running Gaza, I think that the Rafah crossing would be operated normally, as it had been before June 2007,” he said.
Haridy added that Egypt, which was one of the mediators for ceasefire negotiations between Hamas and Israel, “has really exerted all its efforts to bring the Israeli aggression to an end as quickly as possible”.
