Egypt have been in bed with the US and Israel since 78.
They were the first Arab state to recognize Israel and they get a billion dollars in aid annually from the US in exchange for staying out of conflict in the region. Egypt also have Sinai demilitarized and I see it every time I’m there that “US travelers are forbidden to cross into Mount Sinai due to terrorism.”
