Does anybody think the Palestinians including Hamas are suicidal? They would have to be knowing they could never defeat Israel militarily. So why did they launch this attack? The answer is simple, desperate people do desperate things and the Palestinians locked by Israel in an open air prison called Gaza truly are. There's an old saying "you can kick a dog around for so long and he'll get tired, he'll turn". Metaphorically the Palestinians are that dog and apparently would rather die than continue to live under Israel's never ending oppression. Israel must stop its land grab and allow the Palestinians their own autonomous state with contiguous borders and end this madness.

I agree with all of this except for the land grab part.

Outside that, yea, the frustration from Palestinians is well known and empathized with.

In a nutshell, this conflict has forever been about who rightfully claims the holy land.

The 3 dominant books of the world today, the Bible, the Quran, and the Torah, all point to Israel as the holy land where God/Mohammed/Yeshua all made significant contributions to religion from this region.

While Christian’s are more or less outsiders to the situation, Jews and Muslims that have lived in the region for centuries, are still battling for its ownership, particularly Gaza and the West Bank but many parts of Israel overall.

That’s really all it is and ever has been.

Sidenote: From an American perspective, the US’s involvement stems from many high ranking CEO’s, cabinet members, politicians, etc, all having Jewish origin. This is why you see the performative condemnation on social media or wherever, even from non-jews. The metaphoric kissing of the ring.

They did absolutely. Like most of that region of the world, many empires, conquered many areas, leaving their mark for some time.

For a century or more, Israel was under Christian control. They, including Jews & Muslims all cohabitated the land as always.

Christians we’re later expelled as majority rulers, by Muslims around the 10th century.

Why would Egypt participate in the colonial, racist, inhumane blockade that has made Gaza essentially an open air prison? The Rafah crossing is 100% Egypt so why would they help Israel perpetrate this genocide on their fellow Arab brothers ?

Nobody hates the Palestinians like actual Arabs and some of you are so caught in up HS level geopolitical thinking to understand why... The contrarianism/freethinkerism that is rife on here doesn't actually work in the real world especially with geopolitics.
