Israelis visiting Amsterdam for a Maccabi Tel Aviv game are currently being violently attacked on the streets by pro-Jihadist mobs, some donning Palestinian flags. Early reports suggest groups armed with knives prepared to ambush the
Israeli soccer fans as they departed the soccer arena after the match; waiting in alleys, and exits from train stations. Footage shows Jews being beaten in the street and hit by cars, while others were thrown into canals and forced to run into hotels and other hiding places to get away from the mobs.
There are fears for the lives of some Israelis, with unverified reports of kidnappings said to have occurred. Calling it a “pogrom”, former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has urged Dutch authorities to “act immediately”, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to speak with the Netherlands Prime Minister Dick Schoof imminently.
Meanwhile, Israel is sending a delegation with two El Al rescue planes currently en route to Amsterdam. The situation continues to unfold. This weekend marks the 86th anniversary since Kristallnacht.
