I feel the same way when I see grown men arguing about which avenger is stronger and having rage fits about comic book movies lol
Alan Moore has a really good take about the infantilization of modern adults, adults who've never picked up a book or watched a serious film but are obsessed with children's cartoons and comics/comic movies, he thinks it's being pushed on us to make the population less intelligent and honestly it seems to be working lol (to be clear I personally think it's only a problem if it's all you consume, which is sadly a lot of people.)
If THAT is what she is referring to - hyper fans? Of course but that isn't even a discussion. Like you said talking EXTREMES.
Which based on her previous comments and these... she was lumping everyone together so I'm gonna say she wasn't talking extremes. She just hating.
Sidebar: Comic books sci fi super fans don't sound more ridiculous then sports fans or music fans (and TRUST there are MORE of those!).
When fandom is done right its a beautiful thing that can build community friendships and a tradition.
Harry Potter fans by and large are harmless loving good folk who I'm always gonna support because they strongly encourage reading and education and philanthropy. They passionate.
Now this actress ain't really famous for nothing else. They always approach her with love. She ain't giving one residual check back. She ain't taking it off her CV.
She can't say she hates the fame. don't go into the entertainment business. don't do long tv series or big budget movies.
Why sh*t on the people who MADE YOU FAMOUS.
She is beloved by multiple generations.
Harry Potter Wedding? I seen Star Was Dallas Cowboys, underwater, Disney, FIFA weddings.
She need to stop it.
And I'm the one on the board usually killing these so called fans.
