you dont think the movie was actually makin fun of wite actors, who think they can play any character of any race??
I feel it got over because it had the bruh costar there, voicing how we really feel about cacs tryin to be us...
without that costar and his lines..
it wouldnt have gotten a pass....
Now post the history of WhiteFace
that's not white face. Can you tell that there is a black man under there? No.

This is pretty accurate. Clearly, this didn't age well, but there was plenty of opportunity to be pissed off at Fallon for this when it happened. In particular, comedy is a slippery slope, because some things were allowed at one time, and eventually frowned on later. To me there was a process of moving away from Blackface, the Sambo bullshit, to white impressionists coloring their skin to impersonate Black celebrities. Over the 2000s it became clear that even when it was done out of respect, it wasn't cool. Now you will not see a white impressionist put on coloring to do a black celebrity. But this Fallon piece was before the Robert Downey Jr.'s work in Tropic Thunder and no one is talking about canceling Downey Jr. Let's not be selective.
A lot of people forget that there was a pretty big stir up about RDJ in Tropic Thunder. There were several complaints brought up about the movie, but that was one of them. RDJ himself has said that he wasn't sure it was the best idea when he did the movie. He probably only survived that because Iron Man released first, blew up, and made him a somewhat bulletproof commodity for Marvel Studios.there was.
i don't agree with what Jimmy did at all, and would have never found it funny. But this is just a case of some losers on twitter looking for stuff to complain about. Twitter is becoming a cult for people who have nothing else better to do.My personal view on comedy is that if it happened when it happened and people didn't get upset then, there's no point in getting up in arms about it now.

there was.
Dude the naacp even got involved. But when every saw the movie, we all understood what it was about, plus it was funny as fuck.
I definitely didn’t hear any of it.
It must’ve lasted 1 day.
Fake outrage....
