Jurnee Smollett says she has been sexually harassed on nearly every Hollywood set she’s worked on.

“I don’t know that I can confidently say that I worked on one job prior to Lovecraft — from the time I was 12 on — where I hadn’t been sexually harassed, whether it was by an [assistant director], a co-star, director, producer …” she said during an interview with “The Hollywood Reporter.”

Yes, but sexual harassment in some cases could just be sexual jokes made towards you, or indirectly towards someone else - down to direct touching. We need to be specific when talking about it. There are levels to it. Everyone's sensitivities are different. Some women will joke about their sex-lives openly on the job and not bat an eye, while another will shriek in terror if sex is discussed casually in their presence, even if it's the most benign comment.

Right now, at my wife's job, women are complaining about male coworkers looking at other women. Not looking at them, looking at other women....

Yup, shit Is real in the work place these days, Sexual harassment, hostile work environment you name It, you can catch a charge by someone your not even talking too. If that person isn't a parent or guardian, there is a fair chance that they themselves can be suspect. Heck, sometimes even if it is a parent....

Also, you have to consider that a child may not feel comfortable coming forward with an allegation like that. A set is basically just a subset of a real life environment. That's why studios are supposed to be careful with child actors.

But to point, my guess is that the main reason she hasn't been harassed on the set of LC (aside from it just being a good environment) is that she is actually a main title lead in the show. Not saying that she hasn't been up there in other work, but the respect chain shifts significantly when someone absolutely knows that you can get them fired.

You aren't allowed to even look in women's direction today. Sexual harassment is real but some of this stuff is just over the top. Why do you feel uncomfortable about someone looking at someone else?
