I have an anecdote. When the ACA was first available I was able to get a health plan that was superior and cheaper than my employer-based plan. Fast forward a year a two and I had to return back to the EBP because the market had decided to screw me over. It can be saved if they can reinstate the mandate and penalty. Prices are way up because healthier people aren't require to have coverage, thus just leaving those with preexisting conditions and or are most likely to require expensive medical services. When everyone is in the excess premiums from healthier people offset the losses form the less healthy. That's how I understand insurance, but sure its more complicated than that.

In that bill they put an amendment that said you couldn't sue anyone for racial discrimination at the state level. Never heard a peep on the news. A few news papers mentioned the amendment then they removed it.
