A Baltimore mother caught on camera slapping and scolding her son after seeing him throw rocks at police on TV was commended by the city's top cop Monday for ripping one rioter off the streets.

"If you saw on one scene, you had one mother who grabbed her child who had a hood on his head and she started smacking him on the head because she was so embarrassed," Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony Batts told reporters.

"I wish I had more parents that took charge of their kids out there tonight."

The unidentified woman is seen whacking the boy, dressed in all black, three times on the side of his head as she attempts to rip the ski mask off his face.
