Police: Man shot with assault rifle on street

Police are looking for two gunmen, one armed with an assault rifle, that killed a man in broad daylight Saturday in southwest Atlanta.


Atlanta police found the dead man near the intersection of Lisbon and Cahoon Streets, according to a report published on wsbtv.com Police said the suspects pulled in behind the victim's car, shot him 31 times and then escaped.

An assault rifle is believed to have been used by one man while the other used a 9 mm handgun.

The victim’s name has not been released and no further details are available at this time.

That was stupid. You'd think that a motherfucker presumably involved in a criminal enterprise would want to keep a low profile. This kind of spectacle forces the police's hand. If they'd just shot the nigga in his house, or dragged him into an alley and cut his throat, he'd have just been another statistic. Now, he's at the center of a national news story.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the police will have at least three niggas in custody a week from today.

Question: Who else originally thought that this was going to be a thread about a killing (of an American perhaps) in the Swat Valley, Pakistan?

I was thinking the same thing. I make sure I am always aware of my surroundings. I give 3 feet or more clearance on red lights. I pay attention to any car that is behind me too long, changing lanes and even on one occasion going past my exit on the highway. I don't want to end up like Sonny Corleone like this dude here. Call me paranoid, but I will survive.

This reminds me of an episode of "The First 48" in Miami, when two brothers got off about 35-40 rounds (I think half of them hit him) in one guy, the finally put him away with a shotgun blast to the chest at point blank range . For some reason, this episode really stuck with me .
