Man threatened to shoot woman, then raped her: cops
A man raped a 52-year-old woman in the outdoor stairwell of a Brooklyn building Monday after first threatening to shoot her.
The attacker approached the victim at about 3 a.m. at Putnam Street and Lefferts Place in Bedford-Stuyvesant and demanded she follow him to the stairwell. Despite his threat to shoot, he never showed a weapon.
The woman fought back and bit him as he pushed his fingers down her throat, knocking out two of her teeth, according to police.
He managed to remove her underwear, then raped her on the stairs, which lead to the basement of the Lefferts Place building.
The woman was treated at a nearby hospital, where she was in stable condition, police said.
The suspect was still at large. He is described as a muscular black man in his late 30s.
He may have bite marks on his right hand, cops said.
