Would we have seen his acting ability in requiem for a dream if he does Robin? Probably not cause he might have thought he was to big for that part.. so thanks to him getting rejected we saw his capabilities..
In the Batman '89 comic they actually went with that idea..also made Billy Dee Williams's Harvey Dent into Two-Face
If he was in that Batman movie or the sequel, he would have been a bigger superstar for sure.
He would have been offered more roles instead of going the independent route, with his own comedy movies.
He really hasn't done that many films. After Requiem, which has a cult following but didn't make money, he was pigeon holed to comedy.
Jim Carrey and Jamie Foxx and David Alan Gier on the other hand...

Yeah, I didn't know about this either but at least he still did good as an actor doing other things.I never knew this. He's proud of what he has done. That's a great thing.

Tim Burton has hired very few Black people over the years so Marlon may have broken the color barrier during that time.
David Alan Grier has done a ton of pilots as the lead. No one took him as a lead until Broadway.
Chris o Donell played Robin.. who’s talking about that guy in 2024?.. he had several movies after that , that nobody cared for and pretty much did a few b rated movies after and pretty much disappeared. So playing Robin didn’t guarantee longevity success. Jim Carrey was big off of pet detective, Jamie foxx had music , standup, podcast, etc which meant Jack of all trades. marlon ended up doing scary movie 1 and 2, white chicks, lil man, senseless, gi joe, etc.. he also was funding his own projects that made money (haunted house).. he actually did more known projects than Chris o Donell did after 2000… Marlon career is over 32 yrs in the movie industry/ standup

Marlon would have been better than Chris O'Donell. He is a better and more charismatic actor.
Also the directors are different. Marlon would have been with Tim Burton NOT Joel Schumacher.
Tim Burton looks out for the people he works with. He works with the same actors over and over and keeps them working.

I agree, I would like to see him in more serious roles because he did good on bel-air.
People need to start putting some respect on his name, he's not just a comedian that can't act in other roles because he's proven that when given the chance.
i never checked Bel-Air. But i thought he did an incredible job on Respect with Jennifer Hudson....
