Already brandishing the weapon..... yeah he put it away, but he was still aggressive and antagonizing the shooter.....
Shooter saw an opportunity to defend himself since the bully put the gun away..... he took it.

Depends on the state this happened in. For a stand your ground or castle doctrine state they could argue that this was a clean kill or action. But if it was not such a state he's fucked. Dude in the orange had ample time to leave the scene once dude put the heat away...if he was fearful of his life he could have skated. The only way this could be self defense is if he pulled out when dude had his heat out and was being aggressive towards him.
His lawyer must have been trash.

I would have "chased" him down too. Dude had a weapon so he had a chance to neutralize the threat. The guy is running away while being shot at. The shooter was only making sure that those shots were effective enough, and not give him a chance to pull his gun back out. If he didn't chase him, he might have missed him from the longer range as he was running and zigzagging.
I would have done the same thing... neutralize the threat, the best way possible.

I think i read somewhere that the gun was stolen and he didn’t qualify to carry concealed, even if it wasn't stolen.
