Damn. Reaction channels are the biggest thing on Youtube right now. Wonder why they're doing this all of a sudden?
I've been telling folk for weeks that corporations and studios are going to be going extra hard about copyright and privacy.
Not that they were ever extra lax but I think it's going to increase
I am so very curious about the impending Batman copyright
It's weird to me because it's supposed to be Fair Use if it's transformative. So critiquing and reviewing have always fell under that. It's gonna take a really big Youtube with a lot of money like MoistCritikal or someone to call their bluff. HS has 1.5 million followers but probably not enough money to fight this.
It's a slippery slope. If these corps go back and strike old videos this is gonna take a lot of people's channels down

You want it reviewed discussed debated tweeted etc etc
But that is still YOURS.
OTHER outlets have to PAY to use it rightfully so
And I can see using 50 minutes of MY MOVIE AND GETTING PAID for your "review"

Yeah, I think some of the reviewers got too comfortable strictly using the footage and their voiceover on top of the video. One of my favorite Youtubers is this guy named Distracted Nerd. He reviews old movies from the 80s/90s. I fuck with him because he's witty as fuck. But he doesn't show his face and just uses footage from the movie. He's gotten demonetized quite a few times but when he did Monster Squad they gave him a strike and told him he had to take that shit down. Same happened with another YouTuber, Minty Comedic Arts, for the same movie. They both were able to re-upload but if Universal, Sony, etc wanted to hit them they could complete fuck their lives/money up.
I've been watching Kermode for film reviews; he's on youtube. He used to work for the BBC, however now he's independent.
But I UNDERSTAND the studio position
At the end of the day it's their production. And they have hella money and power. It'll be interesting to see the response by other Youtubers to Heavy Spoilers video
