This is my old beat in Southeast DC. This is the hood!!! I seen more than 100 homicides in this area in the past 3 years. Too many black people are living in horror because they don’t make enough money to move. Sadly, people with power didn’t care until crime started happening in NW part of DC and now citizens want answers.

I remember this. I believe it was during the 4th or that's when I first saw it. My MC did a Prom escort ride for Ballou HS and we came up right there. If you were Metro, i'm sure we know some of the same folks. My neighbor is MPD out of 7D.

We are killing more about blacks than other race out there i.Then we talk about You better not say anything about Martin Luther King yet most of the streets that's named after Martin Luther King We committed all kinds of crime on them do we really honor or respect what he died for. If we keep it up black people we're going to be just like dinosaurs distinct.

Damn fam. I’m not a Washingtonian but live in NE Fort Lincoln area for 20 years.

My boy who is like my bro grew up in SE off Alabama Ave in Hillcrest. Man we talk about this shit all the time.

Man we all know what’s going on though. That’s the last area in the city that’s hasn’t gentrified. I was up there 2 weeks ago and went to the new museum clothing store by old st Elizabeth and was like damn they building this section up.

Yeah every Mayor after Marion sold the city out.

Yeah man, I know that area well. I grew up by Iverson Mall, but my dad was a native washingtonian (grew up in Deanwood). I was just over that way the other day, looking at some real estate.

It's wild how they are building up the grounds of St. Elizabeths, we went to the Puerto Rican day event at the Gateway last Sat & I rode around the grounds. White folks are coping those townhouses on the back side of St. Elizabeths. But MLK right outside the main entrance is still popping. I used to hit that car wash back in the day & that joint was like a hood car show all the time.

Yup see proves my point....They coming for the last piece of land in the city...I figured they had moved in, but wasn't sure since I was just driving through and really don't get to SE unless I need to when I am in the city...

I lived around that way as well. Even Ft. Lincoln has had homicides over the past couple of years. Used to be people who weren't from the neighborhood but then familiar faces started getting shot and killed. It's the younger dudes that are involved in all that though. I actually wanted to move back but it ain't the same anymore.
