Michael Blackson celebrated on social media on Wednesday as he officially became a US citizen.
The 48-year-old Ghana native became a US citizen during a naturalization ceremony in Los Angeles.
He posted a photo on Instagram waving a small US flag after becoming official.
'They finally made me an American citizen. Only foreigners will understand why I'm smiling and what we go thru to get a green card or citizenship,' he wrote in the caption for his roughly 5.3 million followers.
The comedian also posted a photo on Twitter smiling after the naturalization ceremony.
GOD BLESS AMERICA! HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE! I'M GOING TO @Disneyland,' he posted along with the photo for his nearly 362,000 followers.
He earlier shared a photo of his green card on Twitter.
'Today I'm turning this in back to the U.S immigration. For those who don't know what this is it's a green card, this is what every foreigner that comes to America will die for lol. Today I'm turning it in for my citizenship. Can't wait to swear in so I can apply for welfare,' he wrote.

The comedian was born in Ghana in 1972 and moved with his family to Newark, New Jersey, at age 13, before setting in Philadelphia when he was age 15.
