If y'all hate AEW so much, why the fuck are y'all constantly talking about it? The company you like show is on, enjoy that shit...lol I enjoy this thread (or enjoyed) because I can't watch all of the shows and use this to keep up but gotdamn man, this shit is a whine fest page after page after page.
TK just this past week had an interview on NFL Network where he had a chance to promote and put over AEW and the talent.
But does he do that? Nope.
Instead he uses that valuable air time to take shots at the former head of WWE and by proxy WWE.
That just tells me where TK's head is.

TK and the hardcore AEW fans don't get to take constant shots at "the E fed" but then get butt hurt with any criticism that comes back at them.
Shit don't work that way.
As the old saying goes, "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones".

I see the team of Jade and Bianca ending in an implosion rather being beaten outright. There aren't any women teams on the roster that I think could believable beating them.
They would have to pair up Charlotte and Tiffany Stratton vs Bianca and Jade at Wrestlemania 41

This, sequence is insane...

This is the start of a slow build towards next year's wrestlemania.
  1. Hold the titles through the summer
  2. Cracks and jealousy start to show
  3. Lose the titles at Summer Slam
  4. Jade turns at Survivor Series saying it's her time to be a solo champion. Beats up Bianca real bad
  5. Jade beats Bayley (or whoever is the SmackDown champion) at Royal Rumble
  6. Bianca wins Rumble
  7. Bam, I'm watching The Future vs The Streak from WrestleMania in Vegas with lust in my eyes.

You can always swerve it and have Bianca turn and be the heel. Either way, this is the general sequence

Random Vid of Stone Cold with Bret Hart...

"You think it's all fun and games for stone cold"

"Why dont you tie my shoe?"

You can see Bret become visibly uncomfortable hearing and saying the word 'ass' in front of the camera.

Stone Cold on the other hand doesn't seem like he was acting at all. Young Stone Cold wanted all the smoke.

So the plan seems to be have the Bloodline continuously lose/ get beatdown until the tribal chief returns to right the ship.

I guess that's great longterm storytelling, but in the short-term this shit is hard to watch. I haven't watched any wrestling since Mania and the first match of Backlash was basically a massacre.

Nah that's exactly how it will probably go down. Jade is better off working as a heel. She can work slow and Bianca can make her look good.

The three matches I'll be paying attention to are ...

Giulia & Utami Hayashishita vs. Sareee & Bozilla

Mai Sakurai & Zayda Steel vs. Nagisa Nozaki & Myla Grace

Miku Aono vs. Nao Ishikawa

The rest of the card looks weak. I know it's a new promotion but they need some depth to their roster.

Didn't get a chance to watch Backlash yesterday as I picked up a freelance gig yesterday but I watched Backlash this morning....

What a great event. It wasn't overly long but hit the sweet spot. The storytelling in these matches were great. Liked the way the show opened with Orton/KO versus Bloodline 2.0. Nice surprise with the debut of Tanga. I don't think Fatu would be allowed to travel to France due to his record....

The build to Survivor Series Wargames is going to be ILL. Bloodline 2.0 (Solo, Tama, Tanga, Fatu and another unamed cousin) up against Bloodline (Reigns, Usos and with KO and Sami Zayn) is going to be fun as hell.

Glad to see Damage Cntrl drop the tag belts. Their run wasn't long but it was long enough. I want to see Asuka back as a singles wrestler and this may be a way to have to Kabuki Warriors do their thing separately.

Really fun three way match between Naomi, Tiffany and Bayley. Wasn't a 5 star match but it was entertaining. The women definitely brought it tonight.

Jey Uso's entrance was dope. I wish he was as good in the ring during matches as his walk to ring is. Great energy but once the bell rings, it's like night and day. Priest carried that match and I like how they are slowly turning him Babyface. Damien Priest and Rhea both have basically outgrown The Judgement Day. Balor will cost Priest his title at Clash at the Castle and we'll get Priest versus Balor at SummerSlam.

Cody vs AJ Styles was storytelling 101. Amazingly entertaining match and probably Styles best match in years (crazy to say that). Thanks to Styles the match cemented Cody as the current top dog.

Definitely a great PPV/PLE. These international crowds are on a whole other level. Seriously, that crowd was fucking amazing hot. Not AEW hot but close enough....

Solid 9/10 PPV.

They really had no choice but to put the belt on Moxley. Naito is a shell of his former shelf. SANADA is boring as fuck. ZSJ isn't ready for the top title. Neither is David Finley or Shota Umino. The only person I see that can take it off of Moxley is Shingo Takagi. Maybe they do that at "Forbidden Door 3".

Is this Shingo Takagi a pretty good wrestler at NJPW??

This Backlash hit different in a good way. The crowd alone was the best I have seen in along time. Matches didn't drag on for no reason, no thrown together matches just to have extra matches. Truth I would take 5 or 6 good matches on a none WM or SS PPV over 9 to 11 matches half of which mean nothing any day.

From my understanding Skye Blue came up with this sequence that Jade repeated with KAIRI yesterday at Backlash. Props!

Yep, When I saw this clip on Twitter on Sat, I remember that Jade did this move before when she was at AEW!!...I didn't remember who was the wrestler she done it too but I know she done this move before when she was at AEW.. Props to Sky Blue!!..

TK needs to let some of those real OG wrestler he has on payroll help him, before he finds himself in a WCW position.

I want someone who is not AEW (or WWE) affiliated to sit down with him for an interview and ask what he's think for real. Like not in Tony Kahn character mode, but as the real promoter of the company. I know he's said in the past that he's going for that old school east coast wrestling vibe. But you can't say that and do a half-ass job emulating main event WWE. If you're going to take on WWE it should just be at the NXT level. Smaller roster, smaller arena or studio.

Although AEW is on TNT/TBS and gets a lot of comparisons to old WCW, I remember reading that TK was a huge ECW fan. I wish he tried emulating and capturing the old ECW feel instead of trying to do WWE lite.

There is a place for the smaller venue and crowd participation experience ECW offered back in the day, but AEW seems to be caught in the middle of trying to appeal to those fans while trying to all be big time, doing shows in big venues that don't sell out.

You can't have it both ways. Some of the best ECW shows took place in the Elks Lodge on Queens Blvd or in the Hammerstein Ballroom. Small ass venues but ridiculous atmosphere.

AEW should have tried to emulate this instead of trying to go head-to-head with WWE.
