AGAIN It wasn't the outcome I didn't like it was the match itself I didn't like.
Sorry, but this isn't Stardom or even AEW.
You're not going to get half-hour "bangers" with overly stiff blows and girls being dropped on their heads/shoulders repeatedly.
This is especially so on the first episode of NXT on broadcast TV.
Maybe you'll get that on a PLE here and there, but don't expect it every week.

I was gonna go to the show next week here in Saint Louis but there's no way I'm sitting through this shit!

NXT really leaning into hip-hop with their characters, opening theme song with 2chainz and Lil' Wayne.
But damn, this shit again????
She is popular (whether we like her or not) and they must have done good numbers the last time she was on to bring her back.
I just hope this doesn't become a regular thing.

It was her 2nd. A good number of international wrestlers and wrestlers coming from a different promotion will seem watered down. Nothing new to what we're all accustomed to seeing for years as fan. Part of the process unfortunately.
These wrestlers from other countries have to change their style once they arrive here.
That overly stiff shit won't fly here and will lead to injuries and shortened careers.

I don't like it either. Unless it's a joint ppv show keep NJPW talent off of Stardom shows. With that said Natsupoi sold the fuck out of that spear and they need to have her pay that shit back in due time.

Wonder is Big E makes an appearance to pull them back together and becomes their full-time manager. He's probably never wrestling again unless something miraculous happen with his neck.

So it looks like Rampage is dead and being repackaged into another show, possibly on FS1.
And Collision and Dynamite will be simulcast live on MAX and old episodes available on demand, which is great.
That should hopefully get AEW more exposure with the mainstream and grow their product, if that's even their goal anymore.
$150m/year is not quite the $170m number that was being thrown around a few weeks ago but still a decent number.

I wonder what AEWs overhead is on operational costs a year. Between production costs, talent and staff pay, venue costs, travel costs, marketing, etc....

I would be curious to see how much they spend a year versus how much they actually make.

Regardless, glad to see they finally have their deal.

According to Andrew Zarian and Sean Ross Sapp the $150m doesn't factor in everything like ppv revenue for example so the number is probably higher than $150m.

For their payroll alone, the number being floated out there is $100m/year

Another great thing about the AEW Streaming MAX deal and the WWE Raw Netflix streaming deal is this ratings discourse bullshit will FINALLY be put to rest. No more Nielsen ratings crap.

At this point it doesn't really matter. The deal is done and once they go to streaming the traditional Nielsen ratings model will be really dead. They'll grow that audience through streaming.
I hope you're right but I doubt it. If folks weren't tuning into to watch them on regular cable, I doubt folks are going to start watching them on a streaming platform. Although people are leaving cable year after year, channel surfing on cable is still part of viewer habits. People who stream and ONLY stream are going to watch the content they already enjoy.

You're not going to be growing a new audience on a streaming platform, just cater to the base that already watched you on cable.

I agree. It's been outdated for too long. The way people consume wrestling has changed past the point to be able to accurately gauge the numbers "easily".

Exactly. I don't even watch Dynamite on TBS cable. I watch it on the Fite stream so if I'm watching it via streaming how many more people are also watching it via streaming? So when the Nielsen viewer numbers come out and it's 700,000 I say to myself yeah but what are the streaming numbers?
