My skills are still too basic but sometimes because of budget and schedule I gotta make it work. I can do basic wash condition oil and flat braids but nothing more. Remember these are girls you gotta flip the style and if you need to trim, split ends etc etc? You gonna need a pro.

I just left a barber that charged $60 for my son and myself for a barber that is closer for $40. What’s crazy is there is an Asian barber in the area that still charges $10 for haircuts. While I think it's a BS price, I think she charged for convenience too. It's "normally" $500 which is bullshit numero uno but could be the quality of the hair, requested style, time it took considering it's a kid and was fidgety, conducting biz after hours, travel fees.
That being said, the most I've seen charged in the DMV is $300 for uber quality work.
My kids ain’t babies. My daughter a freshman in high school and the other just made it to middle school. They both have hair down their back. Long, beautiful hair. Still got braiding hair added. My daughters got what the kids now call “coi leray braids” and I got my shit braided too. All of our hair was taken down beforehand, she washed us all and braided. No trim was necessary that trip because they constantly get their hair maintained. I think I got 4-6 braids for $60-80, and both the girls was around $250. She charged 5 sumn and I gave her a top for 3 heads. I’m in the Bay Area. Is that so out of the ordinary? They go to a different Braider sometimes and her prices are a little higher but not by a hundred or hundreds
